Hey babes!
If you are looking to get to know me a little better, you've come to right corner of my blog.
My name is Allison, if you haven't learned that already. I've been playing flute for 7 years now, and teaching myself guitar 4 years ago. I also play saxophone, but only a little bit.
My passion for music started when I was little and has continually grown since. From the time I could, I've been singing. You'll most likely never catch me not singing. Everything I do in my life pretty much revolves around something music related.
My musical background pretty much includes everything band. I was in band for 7 years, both in junior high and high school. Being in band in high school also included marching band in the fall, which is my true passion. I fell in love with marching band right from the beginning and have worked to improve in it ever since. I marched flute my freshman year, and then piccolo for sophomore and junior year. Piccolo became my preferred instrument, and I continued to play it as my primary instrument during my sophomore, junior, and senior years. I was drum major my senior year, which was the best experience that I have ever had. I loved every minute of it, even the frustrating ones. This upcoming fall, I will be beginning my next journey in my college marching band. Not only have I participated in my school's music departments, I was in my local community college's band for 3 semesters, which was a great opportunity to really improve in my playing. If you have the opportunity to do this, I highly recommend it. I also played in small ensembles for fundraising, including a flute and cello quartet, and some small pep band gigs. During the fall of my senior year, I was presented the wonderful opportunity to play in my local orchestra, which was normally by audition only. However, a spot became available that needed to be filled immediately, and my college band director asked if I would be willing to fill it. I was only able to play one semester with the orchestra, but it was such an enriching experience.
I began this blog a few years back as a way to fill my time, but have not been as dedicated to it as I would like. However, I am hoping to change that as my time is more free during this summer and the upcoming years. Eventually, I would like this blog to be a possible source of side income. But that's for the future, and for now, I hope to focus on bringing you all some great music. Thanks for reading this, and please feel free to ask any questions below! I hope to be able to answer all of them.
Love,
A.M.D.
